Shrewsbury Homes has been building developments in Shropshire since 2000. Based in Shrewsbury itself, the company is headed up by director Mathew Morris. We love Shropshire and our focus from the start was to build dream homes for our clients in this stunning county, which combines the best of town centre and rural living.

Our mantra is quality, not speed, so we take our time to make sure our clients’ future homes are perfect. One person describes the experience of having her property developed by Shrewsbury Homes as “like building your own home, the exact way you want it… but without any of the hassle”.

Shrewsbury Homes only employs highly skilled and experienced tradespeople and our positive working relationship means that most of our team have been with us since the company launched. We like to invest in people and normally have up to three apprentices, who we are keen to employ after their apprenticeship and help on their career journey.

We use sustainable products and building methods wherever possible. All of our homes are timber framed and thermally efficient, so you can expect lower energy bills. We also use acoustic, sound-reducing windows for a real feeling of privacy.

Listening to our clients

All of our developments in and around Shrewsbury are different. We listen to our purchasers and are happy to put in the fittings they want and make internal changes such as structural variations and bespoke bathrooms and kitchens.

Although many of our developments sell off-plan, we work with trusted designers so that you can see 3D models of your future home. Other ‘peace of mind’ benefits include a 10-year warranty on all our properties, which further incorporates a two-year builders’ guarantee. Because we insist on quality from the start, Shrewsbury Homes never anticipates any hurdles. If there are things you want tidying up, rest assured they will be taken care of.

Buying off-plan

A huge benefit of buying one of our properties early in the build is that your house can be bought off-plan. It’s the ideal way to custom design your new property. Purchasing off-plan from Shrewsbury Homes, before construction has been completed, allows you to personalise your future home to match your individual tastes and needs. You would be given the opportunity to request internal changes and create bespoke bathrooms and kitchens.

Our team can recommend products and finishes but they will be happy to use any features, fixtures and fittings that you have personally hand-picked. As long as there are no structural implications, we will even move interior walls for you! Unlike some communities that are being built by national construction firms, which feature identical clones of the same design, Shrewsbury Homes enables you to put your own stamp on your new home.

Help to Buy and Easy Mover

With the Government’s Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme, purchasing a property from Shrewsbury Homes couldn’t be easier. The scheme is available to all buyers of new builds on everything we do up to a value of £600,000.

The loans are open to both first-time buyers and home movers on new-build homes:

  • You need to contribute at least 5% of the property price as a deposit
  • The Government will give you a loan for up to 20% of the price
  • You need a mortgage of up to 75% to cover the rest
